one of my favorite shots from our wedding day |
Your first wedding anniversary.
It's kind of a big deal, right?
Once you're passed that day, it's like you're no longer a newlywed. Your married, somewhat seasoned at this thing called marriage. At least that's how it seems.
The Boy and I celebrated our first anniversary a couple weeks ago. The really nice thing about it is that leading up to the day we kept getting messages and comments from friends and family, who were with us last year, about how much they wished they were back in Newport, RI. It really warmed my heart to hear that. We truly had an amazing time, but since so much of a wedding is for the guests it's nice to hear that they all had such a good time that they wanted to do it all over again.
It all made me nostalgic for the coast and lobster, our friends and family. So as we planned our weekend and I thought about a gift for the Boy, I knew I wanted to do something that would commemorate the day. We had agreed to go the traditional route with gifts, using paper as our guideline. It was then that I remembered the prints I loved over at JHill Designs. Her "Places I've Never Been" Collection is fabulous. She also does all kinds of custom work too. So I asked her to design a print that I felt really commemorated our day.
