I know it's a bit late in the game to be making a sweet for your sweet, but these little heart shaped sweets are too good and too easy not to share.
Their adorable heart-shape is thanks to Wilton's Heart-Shaped Whoopie Pie Pan, but they work just as well if you pipe little mounds of batter onto a parchment lines baking-sheet. Though I think these are a bit cuter.
The cinnamon spiced cake with the Nutella Mascarpone is an ideal dessert for your sweetie on the day of love or Single's Awareness Day as I liked to call it when I was still single. Which is just as important of a day if you ask me!
So make these for someone you love. Seriously, there's still plenty of time.

Banana Whoopie Pies with Nutella Mascarpone Filling

Ingredients
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 2/3 cup ripe banana - mashed
- 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
- 8 Tbsps unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup golden brown sugar - packed
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- nutella mascarpone frosting
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly butter a Wilton heart-shaped whoopie pie pan. Sift flour, baking powder, baking soda,cinnamon, and salt into a bowl. Combine banana and yogurt in another bowl.2. Beat butter and sugars with a mixer on medium-high speed, until pale and creamy, about 3 minutes. Add egg, beating until incorporated. Add banana mixture in 2 additions, alternating with flour mixture.3. Place 1 1/2 - 2 Tbsps of batter into each heart-shaped well. Spread to fill with an angled spatula.4. Bake until edges are golden, about 10-12 minutes. Let cool for 5 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely. Butter the pan again and bake another batch of cookies.5. Pipe or spoon 1-2 tablespoon Nutella Mascarpone mixture onto the flat sides of half the cookies. Sandwich with remaining cookies.
